Report: Wells Fargo to pay $125M in loans lawsuit
Wells Fargo has agreed to a $125 million settlement of a lawsuit that accused it and other underwriters of misrepresenting the quality of loans with mortgage pass-through certificates it sold, according to a report in the New York Times. Investors in those certificates get income payments from the mortgages. The suit was related to $67.5 billion worth of certificates sold by Wells Fargo, along with underwriters Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase & Co. and UBS.
